DESCRIPTION:Interested in learning how to build a 24 ft diameter tapered wall yurt? This summer 2023 Looky Here and Dickenson Reach Yurts are collaborating to offer a free 13 day workshop from July 19th to the 31st!  Come camp out on 43 Acres in Marlboro Vt and try your hand at building a tapered wall yurt\, originally designed by Bill Coperthwaite\, author of  “A Handmade Life: In Search of Simplicity” ! This workshop will be led by the talented Mike Iacona\, Bill’s successor and apprentice in Yurt Building. ALL SKILL LEVELS WELCOME! SUMMARY:Julia Shirar Portrait Residency
DESCRIPTION:“From June 1st through July 28th 2023\, from 12pm to 6pm on Thursdays\, I’m inviting the people  in Greenfield to sign up or stop by Looky Here to be painted. I’ll paint from life\,whoever is there\, in the time allotted\, what I can get down on the page or canvas. The results will be a portrait painted from life\, a notation of an interaction in a given time\, hung on the wall as they are completed. The portraits can be of individuals or groups and very much depend on the moment at hand and what is happening in the space. Please spread the word to friends and family to encourage a wide range of participants and not just those privy to the Looky Here calendar. All participants are invited to a closing party on July 28th that will correspond with Greenfield’s first Friday gallery walk\, with food and drink and where the subjects of the portraits can meet and talk or just mill about.
