Let’s cut things up\, glue them down\, and create something beautiful!  \n  \nBio: Bella LaMontagne is an analog collage artist based in Shelburne Falls Massachusetts. She is a Finalist in the 9th edition of the Boynes Artist Award: Young Artist Category. Her work has been published in multiple publications including\, the Red Ogre Review\, the Indianapolis Review\, the Santa Clara Review\, and Photosynthesis Magazine . Bella has exhibited her work both regionally and internationally. In March of 2023 Bella was an artist in residence\, hosted by the Kolaj Institute\, at the Knoxville Museum of Art in Knoxville Tennessee where she explored the role of folklore within the context of collage.

Working with a new prompt each week\, class time will be divided evenly to critique and discuss everyone’s writing. This generative writing workshop is open to adults and mature teens with any level of writing experience. Limited to 12 students.\n\n\nAbout the teacher: Vanessa Brewster is a writer\, musician and educator living in Greenfield. She is a candidate in the Bennington MFA program for fiction and has a Masters degree in Spanish Literature from Middlebury College. SUMMARY:Interaction of Color
DESCRIPTION:Josef Albers Interaction of Color  Reading and Color Theory Class \n  \nIn this 8 week class\, we will work through the color experiments presented by Josef Albers in his 1963 publication “Interaction of Color”. Albers taught at the Bauhaus and Black Mountain College\, headed Yale University’s department of design\, and is considered one of the most influential teachers of the visual arts in the twentieth century. Students will need to have a copy of the text as well as color swatches to work with (color swatches from paint stores work best!). Experiments will be done at home and in class.  \n(TICKETS IN WEEK 1)

SUMMARY:Needle Felting Workshop with Anna Sunschauer (10/22 1:00-3:00)
DESCRIPTION:Come learn the art of needle felting! Fiber artist Anna Sunschauer will teach you how to sculpt fluffy wool fiber into 3D objects using felting needles. In this workshop\, you will learn how to make a sweet little little hen ornament! No prior felting experience is necessary\, but it is recommended that all participants have solid fine motor skills to avoid injury with the sharp needles. \nThis workshop is open to teens and adults ages 12 & up and is limited to 8 participants. All necessary tools and materials will be provided. \nAbout the instructor: Anna Sunschauer (pronouns: they/them) is a local fiber artist who sculpts cute\, colorful creatures from wool using felting needles. They started running felting workshops around the Pioneer Valley in the beginning of 2023\, and have been featured in a variety of local craft fairs and art shows across Western MA over the last three years. SUMMARY:Intro to Writing for Children with Executive Editor Celia Lee
DESCRIPTION:Have you ever thought about writing a book for children but don’t know where to start? This workshop is for you! Join an experienced children’s book editor as we explore the current children’s book landscape and unpack the writing process. Depending on the direction of the class\, we can also touch on the specifics of writing for different age categories. Attendees should come away from the class with tangible next steps to jumpstart their children’s book writing journey. Bring a notebook and pen and let’s create some stories! \nBio: Celia Lee is an executive editor at Simon & Schuster Books for Young Readers\, where she works with creators on books for readers of all ages. Authors and illustrators she’s partnered with include Alex Willan\, Aisha Saeed\, Whitney Gardner\, Tami Charles\, Ashley Woodfolk\, Kyle Lukoff\, and Beth Ferry. She previously worked at Scholastic\, where\, in addition to editing\, she helped start their employee diversity committee as well as coordinated their partnership with We Need Diverse Books ™. Celia served for two years as a member of the Children’s Book Council (CBC) Diversity Committee and is a mentor for POC in Publishing. She graduated Phi Beta Kappa at Virginia Tech\, with a concentration on English Literature and Art History\, and earned a MS in Publishing from NYU.
