SUMMARY:Unproductive Behaviors with Sierra Dickey (6 weeks - Mondays 5:00 - 7:00)
DESCRIPTION:This writing circle for queer-identified people focuses on generating new work of any genre. We will write and revise in community through the 100s method popularized by feminist scholars like Lauren Berlant and Dr. Kim Tall Bear. The 100s asks each participant to write 100 words a day on an assigned day of the week. Participants write in one shared document where they can see and take momentum from each other’s work. During the week\, writers will be given an optional prompt and are expected to write 100 words on their given day. When the group gathers we will review each other’s writing\, discuss the process of generating together\, and support each other as we explore ways to take our fragments further. This workshop is titled ‘unproductive behaviors’ because it is dedicated to generating work without adhering to ideals of productivity that harry writers to push out word counts or tangible products. By depending on a group of writers to generate in concert (akin to singing in the round)\, the 100s process invites us to dally in the process. \n  \nFee: $120 per person \nDates: 5-7pm Mondays for 6 weeks. DESCRIPTION:Josef Albers Interaction of Color  Reading and Color Theory Class \n  \nIn this 8 week class\, we will work through the color experiments presented by Josef Albers in his 1963 publication “Interaction of Color”. Albers taught at the Bauhaus and Black Mountain College\, headed Yale University’s department of design\, and is considered one of the most influential teachers of the visual arts in the twentieth century. Students will need to have a copy of the text as well as color swatches to work with (color swatches from paint stores work best!). SUMMARY:Collage Club at Looky Here - All ages!
DESCRIPTION:The Collage Club is where you can play\, experiment\, and learn the fundamentals of creating a collage! No experience is necessary to participate and open to all ages!  All collage materials will be provided or you can bring your own. We will meet from 1-3 pm. Tickets for this event are $10 each class. Let’s cut things up\, glue them down\, and create something beautiful!  \n  \nBio: Bella LaMontagne is an analog collage artist based in Shelburne Falls Massachusetts. She is a Finalist in the 9th edition of the Boynes Artist Award: Young Artist Category. Her work has been published in multiple publications including\, the Red Ogre Review\, the Indianapolis Review\, the Santa Clara Review\, and Photosynthesis Magazine . Bella has exhibited her work both regionally and internationally. In March of 2023 Bella was an artist in residence\, hosted by the Kolaj Institute\, at the Knoxville Museum of Art in Knoxville Tennessee where she explored the role of folklore within the context of collage.

DESCRIPTION:We are offering our Portrait Painting Spanish through art classes through Greenfield Community College’s Continuing Engagement Program on Thursday November 16th\, and December 14th from 3:00 – 5:00p.m. \n\n\n\nWe’ll talk about Frida Kahlo’s portraits and her techniques in Spanish\, and then paint our own self-portraits!
