Past Workshops


Join us February 8th for a workshop in 3d needle felting! We will use roving and felting needs to form miniature soft sculptures! All materials included in workshop fee. Cost is $15-25 sliding scale. This workshop involves the use of sharp needles, so we suggest caution for those younger than 10.

This workshop will teach you how the machine works, and once completed, participants will be eligible for our Riso Club, and will be able to reserve time on the machine for $10/hour on selected shop hours.

This class is for people who want to learn how to knit but have never done it before or need a refresher. Kait will teach the foundations of knitting: how to cast on, knit, purl and bind off.
Kait will teach you what you need to know to make a pair of fingerless mitts!
Kait Brink has been knitting for 24 years, she has shown her big knits (done on handmade size 228 needles!) at gallery shows, performances and was featured at Vouge Knitting Live in Times Square as well as in the internationally published book, “Creative Extremes” by Topp Publishing. Clay platter Workshop 2/2/20

Roll out clay to form, design and paint your own functional, decorative, dishwasher safe plate to keep forever, or to gift. 2D Needle Felting!

Saturday January 4, 2-5 pm
Come learn to make 2D images using roving and felting needles! We will press wool into fabric to make 2D images that will softly adorn our clothing and walls. All materials provided, but feel free to bring a sweater or soft surface of your own. Wool blends are suggested, but there’s some leeway there.

Zelda Mazor-Freedman is a fiber artist who felts and fusses out of Northampton, MA. Interested in craft and the decorative arts, Zelda makes personal objects. Working through doll making, felting, knitting, and other folk art techniques, Zelda makes her work while thinking about narrative, relationships, and whimsy.

Looky here will be putting on a music theory study group focusing on the work of Wa matheieu and Erv Wilson !
Particularly we will be investigating matheieus text “harmonic experience” and applying its principals to the study of Wilson’s / Harry partch’s tuning systems. This study group will begin meeting on a weekly basis starting October 6th!
There will be a few guest speakers as well who will guide us on our journey to integrating the lattice and fondling the measurable !!
So excited to explore this will all of you!

Make our Merch

Description: Make our Merch- happening on Monday evenings from 5-7 will be a free series of workshops in block-printing, batik, embroidery and applique in which we will produce a line of merchandise to sell at our shop.
The Big Draw/ Free Draw
A life drawing series beings at Looky Here on October 3rd at 6pm with a nude model. This weekly series will last all month and will culminate with a final nude model session on October 31st. The 10th, 17th and 24th will be Free Draw, without a model and without charge. The Big Draw evenings will request a $10-$15 donation for participation.
All ages and abilities are welcome.

If you didn’t come last time, come this time! If you did come last time, here we go again! We have been getting some very generous supply donations, so there will be more available to share! Same as before, if you have your own materials to work with, bring them along, and if you have some extra to share or donate to the space, it would be much appreciated! I have a couple of easels that I can bring this time, and if you do too, cool! snacks and drinks and records would all be fun to bring too. Look forward to seeing y’all again!

Let’s get together with piles of mending, costume making, and embroidery projects! Bring needles and thread, and fabric that has been in limbo for a while! Kid Friendly.
Free Draw
Wednesday, January 31, 7:00-9:00 pm
All ages life drawing. We will pose for each other and practice drawing figures from life. Some materials will be provided, but please bring what you can! (pens, crayons, markers, pastels, paints, paper, costumes, props, records to play, and snacks to share are all welcome and encouraged!)
