4 weeks, 4 themes, and your new year’s writing commitment. Over the course of four weeks, gather to discuss and generate new work with writer L Scully. This workshop will occur Monday evenings in March/April in two hour, limited group sessions at Looky Here. Each week we will explore a different theme through literary and artistic references, group discussion, and generative writing prompts provided live and in session. The ultimate goal of this workshop is to jumpstart your writing practice for the summer in a supportive and productive environment guided by a tapestry of subject matter. Let’s get weird!

Are you genre-queer? Hard to categorize? Curious about hybrid forms? In this eight week generative class, we will read and write variations on the prose poem. From Japanese forms like the haibun and zuihitsu to the modern poem/essay, the prose poem offers a panoply of delights for the experimental writer.

World Collage Day Workshop
with Bella LaMontagne

Date: Saturday May 10th, 2025

Event Description: In celebration of World Collage Day, come make a collaborative collage! This collage workshop involves participants working in groups of two so this is a perfect opportunity to bring a friend or meet someone new. Each partner will work on one half of a collage and then when both partners are ready, you will each switch and finish the other partner’s collage with the final artwork being a surprise for everybody! All materials will be provided, but feel free to bring any special materials or imagery that you have at home. During or after the event you can share your World Collage Day experience using the hashtag #WorldCollageDay. All ages welcome!

Paper Circuits: Light-up Notecards: Learn to build simple circuits and create your own light-up notecards. Use provided templates, stamps and collage materials or draw your own designs. You’ll make a templated demo card to learn the process and spend the last hour working on your own designs with guidance.

2 hours, supplies provided for up to 6 cards.

Make a monster (or two or three) in a quick introduction to needle felting. Invent characters, play with colors and shapes and learn about needle felting tools, techniques and materials.

Intuitive Collage + Vision Mapping

Ever wonder whether you have any control in life? Ever set intentions but have a hard time remembering them?

Now is the time to turn your visions into art that will last as long as you want it to.

Together we will create constellations/guides/divinations for 2025 and beyond.

Each participant is invited to tune into inner perception and capacity to dream.  

A variety of collage/assemblage and mark making materials will be provided.

This six session comedy workshop is designed to make performing stand-up comedy less daunting!

Over six weeks, we will alternate between “content” workshop sessions and open mic workshop sessions. In “content” sessions, we will watch comedy sets by pros and discuss what makes them great. We will break down their jokes, their stage personas, and the structures of their sets and learn from them what works and doesn’t.

Then, on open mic weeks, we’ll take our skills to the mic!

This workshop is specifically meant for people underrepresented in traditional comedy spaces, though all are welcome. No experience necessary/all levels of experience welcome!

ENTROPY is an in person, generative writing workshop hosted by L Scully. The two hour class aims to produce the beginnings of 2+ new pieces of writing based on original prompts provided live and in session. We will discuss our artistic interpretations of ENTROPY as a theme in reference to our personal and collective creative practices, as well as sharing work by writers who add to our understanding of Disorder as a concept. This class is designed to be cross-genre and is open to new and seasoned writers alike.

We will brainstorm, create, discuss, and share work in a supportive and conversational setting. 

We are living in a conundrum of degradation. our bodies age, the State is falling, disorder(s) run rampant in our minds. God feels random and chaos feels inevitable. There is no choice but to write toward uncertainty. What does the end of the world look like to you as an artist? What does the future look like for writers whose worlds have already ended? Cope, world-build, freak out, investigate together.

The Collage Club is where you can play, experiment, and learn the fundamentals of creating a collage! No experience is necessary to participate and open to all ages!  All collage materials will be provided or you can bring your own. We will meet from 1-3 pm on every final Saturday of the month! Tickets for this event are $10 each class. Let’s cut things up, glue them down, and create something beautiful!

Learn how to design and print on the Risograph in this stationary workshop! Each student will use 2 colors and will make an edition of 20 custom note cards and envelopes!

In this class you will learn how bees make beeswax and how humans have worked with beeswax over millennia.  Then you will learn how to render beeswax for candle making and hand dip candles from beeswax.  You’ll take home a set of two hand dipped candles for your own ritual needs.

All skill levels welcome, no candle making experience is necessary.  Must be able to sit for prolonged periods (45 min) and stand periodically for candle dipping.  All materials provided.
