Book Arts with Sarah Wisby (4 week series Saturdays 3:00-6:00)

Learn to make one-of-a-kind handmade books or editions! This class will cover basic folding and sewing techniques for non-adhesive softcover bookbinding. We will make a tiny zine out of a single sheet of paper, learn a basic pamphlet stitch, then move on to books with multiple signatures and decorative bindings. We’ll talk paper, tools, and printing techniques, as well as designing and pricing your books. Some materials included in the cost of the class, but you may wish to bring your own tools and paper. Bring a short text and/or a collection of small images on the first day of class!
