Julia Shirar Portrait Residency

“From June 1st through July 28th 2023, from 12pm to 6pm on Thursdays, I’m inviting the people  in Greenfield to sign up or stop by Looky Here to be painted. I’ll paint from life,whoever is there, in the time allotted, what I can get down on the page or canvas. The results will be a portrait painted from life, a notation of an interaction in a given time, hung on the wall as they are completed. The portraits can be of individuals or groups and very much depend on the moment at hand and what is happening in the space. Please spread the word to friends and family to encourage a wide range of participants and not just those privy to the Looky Here calendar. All participants are invited to a closing party on July 28th that will correspond with Greenfield’s first Friday gallery walk, with food and drink and where the subjects of the portraits can meet and talk or just mill about. When the exhibition closes, the portraits will be documented and reproductions given to the participants.” – Julia Shirar
