Looky There: photographs by Trevor Powers (Gallery Reception 6:00-8:00)

Looky There is an exhibition of risograph-printed photographs by Trevor Powers. The images, all shot on color 35mm film, are printed as 3-4 color risograph prints. Taken in and around western Massachusetts, the photographs explore the color, pattern, and texture of both organic and manmade objects and scenes, while also examining the generative process of how analog images are created and transformed into tangible objects. Their final form is a limited-color, layered risograph print, far from the original creation: a 35mm color negative with sharp focus and an unlimited range of colors. In both stages, the artist’s eye and the creative and mechanical process are visible and ingrained in the final object.
Created over four printing sessions at Looky Here, the work in this exhibition also aims to highlight the invaluable creative asset that Looky Here is for the local community – a place where new skills are learned and creative exploration is pushed within a supportive environment centered on self-expression and collaboration.
Accompanying the series of prints is a handbound artists’ book featuring the riso prints, a free zine, and editioned prints for sale.
