📚 Make a Book on the Risograph

In this 5-week workshop, we’ll help you get your work edited, formatted, and Risograph printed into a 20-copy edition of your very own book — with up to 20 pages!

Whether you’re working in poetry, prose, comics, or collage, you’ll learn how to take your project from draft to finished object using Risograph printing and simple bookbinding techniques.

📘 Week 1: Nov 5 – Kickoff + Manuscript Review
Get to know the group, share your draft, and start thinking about format, layout, and book structure.

✍️ Week 2: Nov 12 – Editing & Revisions
Refine your text, get feedback, and sketch ideas for your cover and layout.

🖋️ Week 3: Nov 19 – Print Prep
Learn how to prepare files for Risograph printing — including layout, pagination, and color separation.

🚫 Nov 26 – No Class
Use this week to finalize your manuscript, finish your cover design, and polish your layout.

🖨️ Week 4: Dec 3 – Printing Begins
Print all your covers and interior pages on the Risograph printer.

📦 Week 5: Dec 10 – Assembly
Collate, fold, bind, and assemble your edition of 20 books.

🎉 Week 6: Dec 17 – Book Release Party @ 7:00 PM
Celebrate your work! Read aloud, sell your books, or just enjoy seeing what everyone made.

✅ By the end, you’ll have:

A final edited manuscript

A designed and formatted book

Riso-ready files (interior + full color cover — digital or analog via the scanner)

20 hand-assembled copies, staple- or stitch-bound

A working knowledge of how Risograph printing works

Students should already have a manuscript or a concept for a book before starting the class.
