In celebration of World Collage Day, come make a piece of collaborative artwork with like minded creatives! By working in groups, each participant will start their own collage and then pass it around the group. Each person in the group will contribute to each collage until everyone has their original artwork back. To make it more interesting, everyone will work in black and white until every collage has made its way around the group. Then each artist will finish their artwork by adding some color! This event is for beginners and experienced collage artists alike and is a perfect workshop to bring friends and family along to collaborate with. All materials will be provided, but feel free to bring any special materials or imagery that you have at home. During or after the event you can share your World Collage day experience using the hashtag #WorldCollageDay! All ages welcome!
Bella is an analog collage artist based in Shelburne Falls Massachusetts. Her art and process are based in Naturphilosophie, which explores the relationship between Nature and the mind. Through the medium of collage Bella breaks down the binary between humans and the wider biotic community. Her work speaks to the human right to roam, exploring the importance of access to natural spaces. She does this by combining fragments of symbolism, folklore, mythology, and contemporary material from magazines and books, to guide viewers through a thought provoking visual narrative that remystifies the world. Bella is a Finalist in the 9th edition of the Boynes Artist Award: Young Artist Category. Her work has been published in multiple publications including, the Red Ogre Review, the Indianapolis Review, the Santa Clara Review, and Photosynthesis Magazine. Bella has exhibited her work both regionally and internationally.
