RISO FUTURES is a production residency and exhibition program supporting a cohort of five artists to develop ambitious, experimental and collaborative new bodies of visual art using Risograph printing as a primary medium. Over a 15-week local residency period at Looky Here in Greenfield, Massachusetts, participating artists will engage in workshops with visiting artists while maintaining a sustained studio production, prioritizing technical experimentation, and community dialogue, culminating in a cohort-based exhibition and limited-edition publication to be distributed by Looky Here Press.
Selected Artists will receive $1,000 stipend and over $4,500 value of included materials and education.
Applications close August 31, 2026 at 5pm and selected artists will be announced by October 15th.

For the 5 participating artists, RISO FUTURES represents a significant opportunity for growth:
sustained access to specialized equipment, mentorship from established practitioners, financial support for production, and the platform to realize work at a scale and ambition not previously possible within their existing resources. The residency is designed as both a sustained and concentrated period of production—providing the space, rigor, and momentum necessary for artists to generate ambitious collaborative work and push their practice somewhere it has not yet gone.
The cohort will meet in person on a bi-weekly basis for workshops, planning and production.
The Cohort will meet bi-weekly on Thursday evenings, attend 4 weekend workshops with visiting artists and have access to 2-4 hours of individual print time each week.

The residency culminates in a group exhibition at Looky Here’s gallery featuring newly produced works by the cohort. The exhibition will foreground the diversity of approaches to Risograph as a contemporary artistic medium, presenting works that may include large-scale prints, immersive installations and experimental multiples. The Cohort will also collaboratively create a limited-run publication as part of the project. This publication will be distributed by Looky Here Press, disseminating the artists’ work beyond the exhibition context.
Looky Here will provide studio access, production facilities and materials, exhibition space, administrative coordination, and connections to a network of artists and collaborators experienced in independent publishing and experimental print practices.
Applicants do not need to have previous experience with Risograph Printing, but need to display an apparent and enthusiastic interest in this printing method. Resident artists will be selected for practices demonstrating conceptual ambition and readiness to expand and collaborate through intensive engagement with Risograph as a primary medium of focus.
Selected artists will be over 18 years old, present compelling work samples and will be available to attend all (or most) of the dates of the residency.
